Asante Kotoko interim coach Karim Zito says it would be “pathetic” for the club to lose to Division One side Golden Kick SC in the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup final on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors are set to battle the surprise finalists at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 PM.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Zito admitted that the pressure is firmly on Kotoko to deliver.
“It will be pathetic. People will not understand if a bigger club loses to a smaller club,” he said. “So, as I said from the beginning, I can’t come out to tell you what I will do; but I know what to do depending on what I want.”
After a disappointing Ghana Premier League campaign that saw Kotoko fall short to Bibiani Gold Stars, the FA Cup represents their only chance to win silverware this season.
Kotoko, a two-time FA Cup champion in the last decade, will be hoping experience and pedigree carry them through against a determined Golden Kick side that has already knocked out Karela United and Hearts of Oak.
