It will be difficult for Hearts of Oak to win the league this season – Mohammed Polo

Former Hearts of Oak head coach, Mohammed Polo has shared that it will be very difficult for the club to emerge as Champions of the Ghana Premier League at the end of the 2022/23 football season.

According to him, to be sidelined from the club brings him a lot of pain especially when he knows he can help the club come out of the current difficulties.

Hearts of Oak’s form has dropped in the last few weeks. In that period, the team has dropped from second to fourth in the Ghana Premier League standings.

Additionally, the Phobians have been eliminated from the MTN FA Cup at the Round 32 stage.

Speaking to Akoma FM in an interview, Mohammed Polo has implored the team to fight for the League title.

He reckons that it is now near-impossible for Hearts of Oak to win the league.

“It will be difficult for Hearts to win the league though I believe the league is a marathon,” Mohammed Polo said.

The Ghana football legend added, “Now that they are out of the FA Cup, they should fight for the league. Ironically, those who were not patient with Samuel Boadu when Hearts was struggling, now that the Club is confronted with a similar situation, what will they say now?”

Up next for Hearts of Oak, the club will take on Medeama SC next weekend in the Ghana Premier League.
