Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah has expressed determination to win the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title, despite the team currently trailing leaders Nations FC by two points with one game left.
Amoah’s side secured a 3-2 win over Medeama SC on Sunday, with him scoring a hat-trick, propelling them to third place with 58 points.
“We are happy [to have beaten Medeama]. It is our dream to win the Premier League, but it’s not too late, so we are happy to claim the three points,” Amoah said after the match.
He acknowledged Medeama as a tough opponent, saying, “They are a very good side, and our coach told us that this was going to be a tough game, so we should fight hard, and we are happy to win.”
Amoah, who has scored 12 goals this season, is also chasing the top scorer title, currently trailing leader Stephen Amankona of Berekum Chelsea by three goals.
“It’s not late [to win the title], everything is possible, and it’s not too late. We have one match to go against Vision FC, an away game. We hope to go and claim all three points there so the goals can also come,” he added.
Asante Kotoko will face Vision FC in their final match, seeking to win the league and close the gap on the top scorer.
