Inter Allies have been treated unfairly after demotion to Division Two League – Club reveals

Inter Allies believe they have been treated unfairly by the Ghana Football Association after suffering demotion to Division Two League for match manipulation.

Allies were found guilty of being involved in match-fixing in their match week 34 game against Ashanti Gold last season at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium which they lost 7-0.

Inter Allies defender Hashmin Musah, who came into the game as a second-half substitute and bagged two own goals, confessed to deliberately putting the ball behind his own goalkeeper with intentions of foiling what he suspected was a standing, fixed 5-0 scoreline

The club on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 appealed the GFA’s verdict.

“It is the contention of the club that the evidence that adduced or heard during the whole proceedings of the disciplinary committee was not that substantial enough to pin the club down per the charges that were levelled against us,” lawyer for the Tampico lads, Felix Nana Osei told JoySports.

“The basis of our appeal is that we want a complete reversal of the verdict that was handed against us.”

Inter Allies suffered relegation last season after finishing 18th on the league with 26 points, while Ashanti Gold finished 9th on the standings.
