The Black Satellites got off to the worst possible start in the competition when they conceded under one minute before fighting their way back to earn a 1-1 draw and know they must beat Mali to avoid a must-win affair with host Rwanda.
Inkoom who was one of Ghana’s best players against Cameroon says the team must keep their eye on the ball in the opening minutes against Mali if they are to win.
_quote “We lost the three points in the opening minute against Cameroon, so it’s important to start well and not make things difficult for ourselves,” he told KickOffGhana.com.
“We played well in that game, but beautiful football without three points is nothing, so we need to show we can win on Wednesday.”
Inkoom is likely to keep his place on the side and apart from questions over Ransford Osei’s fitness; Tetteh has a clean bill of health.
If the Israeli-based striker is fit as the medical staff expects, Ghana coach Sellas Tetteh says he will stick with him and strike partner Dominic Adiyah despite their inability to find any sort of rhythm against Cameroon.
“They had one of those days, and it happened in football but we will give them another chance to work it out,” he said. And the pair were backed by captain Dede Ayew. “Ransford and Dominic are two of the best players in the squad and on their day will score a lot of goals for us. We hope it starts against Benin.”
Ghana will be hoping that even if the pair misfires again, the team shines.
