Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has offered a positive update on his squad, revealing that several injured players are making steady progress as the Porcupine Warriors gear up for their next league outing against Dreams FC.
The experienced tactician confirmed that the improving fitness situation has eased pressure on his technical team, especially after weeks of limited options.
He was quick to commend the club’s medical staff for their role in accelerating recoveries and restoring balance to the squad.
“They are they are gradually recovering you know they are recovering. So I think it’s a plus to the technical team and it’s rather it’s a plus to the medical team. They are doing their best and then bringing them back to,” he told Asante Kotoko TV.
Zito admitted that the lack of depth in recent matches forced him into tough decisions, often leaving the bench short of game-changers.
However, those challenges have also created opportunities for others to step up.
“You see sometimes you watch your bench you don’t get who we wanted to do it’s a problem of late you see how the bench is even the last game we play.
“It gave me the opportunity to use Lawson and I was impressed with his attitude he didn’t show any weakness, he showed he can play so it’s a plus to me.”
With options gradually returning, Kotoko will be aiming to build momentum when they host Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, December 14, with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 pm.
