Black Stars midfield gem Abdul Samed Salis is set to miss Ghana versus Central African Republic fixture Republic in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers after sustaining an ankle injury.
Salis suffered a sprained ankle in RC Lens’ 3-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Coach of Lens, Franck Haise, in an interview after the game, said Salis will go for further assessment in the coming days.
“For him [Salis Abdul Samed], there is has a sprain yes. I don’t know the gravity yet, but I know it comes from the action on the first base,”.
Ghana will welcome the Les Fauves in the final Group E game on September 7 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Coach Chris Hughton is expected to name his squad this week which the players is set go be excluded due to the injury he sustained.
Samed Salis, who represented Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, has capped seven times for the Black Stars.
