Inaki Williams is embracing Athletic Bilbao’s Champions League campaign with enthusiasm and confidence.
The Ghanaian striker believes the squad is excited and ready to live up to their motto of working quietly while aiming high.
“It’s not going to be an easy group. We’re going to have some very nice home games; practically the best teams in Europe are going to be at San Mames. And then there are some very nice away games in which we’ll try to compete on equal terms, and like in recent years, ‘on the down low,’ and see how far we can go,” Williams said.
One of the biggest motivations for Williams is showcasing Athletic’s unique culture to the world.
“There’s no better showcase than playing in the Champions League to show what Athletic is all about,” he explained.
Athletic Bilbao will face top European teams like PSG and Arsenal, and Williams can’t wait to experience the Champions League anthem.
The team is set to host several high-profile matches at San Mames and travel to challenging away games, determined to make their mark in the competition.
