Inaki Williams’ Athletic Club Hit with 3-Window Transfer Ban

Athletic Club, the Spanish side where Inaki Williams plays, has been hit with a transfer ban by FIFA, preventing them from registering new signings until January 2028.

The ban, covering three consecutive transfer windows, was imposed due to multiple regulatory violations. As a result, the club will have to rely on its current squad and youth promotions.

The transfer restriction poses a significant challenge for Athletic Club, especially if they’re competing domestically or in European competitions.

The ban may force the club to focus on developing its academy talent and restructuring finances.

Inaki Williams, who’s been a key player for Athletic Bilbao, has expressed his commitment to the club, stating he has no plans to leave despite interest from other teams.

The club hasn’t announced whether they’ll appeal the decision. Williams, who’s eligible to play for Ghana, has been in good form, contributing 10 goals and 9 assists this season.
