Only a few months remain before the 2022 FIFA World Cup and each country has been accounted for. We can now begin to predict who may be best placed to advance to the knockouts based on matchups in the group stage. England beat out Argentina and Lionel Messi to land the USA in Group A. In Group C, it will be Luis Suarez against Uruguay trying to ruin a possible final World Cup tournament for Cristiano Rojo in Group H.
The tournament starts on Monday, November 21st and will end in less than one month. Sunday’s final tab is set for Sunday, December 18. Brazil is the No.1 team in the world. Brazil is the No. 1 team in the world. They have a manageable group of players to navigate. France, the defending champions, are expected to be the top of their group and get a chance to gain steam for the knockout rounds.
What teams are likely to surprise you? The African champions Senegal are among the strongest teams in Group A which also includes hosts Qatar. Canada’s 37-year-old participation was its first in Group F. Canada will be looking forward to competing against Morocco and Croatia for second, which it did in Group F.
The 2022 World Cup tournament will be similar to previous editions. There will be a 32-team group stage that reduces the field to 16 teams. Only the top two teams in each of the eight groups will survive.

These 16 teams from each group advance to the single-game knockout stage — Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Final — where the winner goes on and the loser goes home. Every knockout round match must have a winner. Extra time and penalty kicks may be used if necessary to determine the victor.
