Brighton and Hove Albion Tariq Lamptey has expressed his joy following his debut call-up to the Black Stars for the upcoming international friendly matches against Brazil and Nicaragua.
He was named in the latest Ghana squad alongside four other debutants including Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams, Southampton FC’s Mohammed Salisu, Stephan Ambrosius of Karlsruher SC and Hamburg’s Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer .
The 21 year old defender decided to play for Ghana in July after representing England at youth level.
The London-born right-back featured from Under 18 to U21 level in the past for the Three Lions but has now switched his allegiance to the Black Stars – who he qualifies to play for through his parents.
Lamptey is in line to make his Black Stars debut when Ghana face Brazil on Friday, September 23, at Stade Oceane in Le Harve- France
I’m happy that everything is completed with FIFA and I’m able to play for Ghana.
