German-born Ghanaian forward Ilyas Ansah is enjoying a dream start to the season after scoring again in Union Berlin’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.
The 19-year-old struck in the 9th minute, finishing off an Andrej Ilic assist to give Union an early lead at the Deutsche Bank Park. The goal means Ansah has now scored in each of his first four Bundesliga games this season, taking his tally to four.
Union’s victory was also inspired by Scotland’s Oliver Burke, who bagged a hat-trick, while Frankfurt responded through Can Yilmaz Uzun and Jonathan Burkardt.
Ansah’s consistency in front of goal has turned heads in Germany, and in Ghana, where calls are already growing for him to consider switching allegiance to the Black Stars despite representing Germany at youth level.
Union Berlin will be counting on his blistering form when they return to league action next weekend
