IFK Gothenburg set to part ways with Ghana’s Rockson Yeboah

Ghanaian centre-back Rockson Yeboah is set to leave Swedish top-flight side IFK Gothenburg this summer after a disappointing spell at the club.

The 20-year-old joined Gothenburg on a three-year deal in August 2024 from Young African Promises FC but has struggled to break into the first team.

Despite being once hailed as one of the brightest Ghanaian prospects in Sweden, Yeboah is yet to make a single appearance in the 2025–26 Allsvenskan season.

Club sporting director Hannes Stiller confirmed the situation in an interview with GP, saying:
“It’s problematic to be signed and not get to play… we have to review his situation, especially for his own sake. I understand it’s not fun to be here for a year without playing in the A-team.”

Yeboah, who previously spent time with AEK Athens, once claimed he was the best outfield player in Sweden’s top division. However, his lack of minutes has put his future at the club in serious doubt.

He remains uncapped at any level for Ghana and will be hoping for a fresh start as he looks to reignite his career elsewhere.
