Head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko, has endorsed midfielder Salim Adams for a potential Black Stars invitation following his outstanding performances in the Ghana Premier League.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a stellar campaign, scoring five goals in 19 league appearances for the Yellow and Mauve as they push for what could be their second league title. Since arriving in Tarkwa at the start of the 2025/26 season, Adams has established himself as a key figure in Tanko’s setup.

His form has sparked growing calls among fans for inclusion in the Ghana national football team squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“It’s no secret that Salim is doing well and scoring some fantastic goals. With the Black Stars technical team closely monitoring the league, I’m sure he is going to get his chance into the team,” Tanko said.

Adams previously represented Ghana at U23 level, making two appearances and scoring once. He first gained national attention in 2021 after sealing a move from New Edubiase United FC to Accra Hearts of Oak. During his stint with the Phobians, he also had a loan spell with FC Cincinnati 2 in the United States, gaining valuable international exposure.

With momentum firmly on his side, Adams will be aiming to maintain his high standards as he pushes for a maiden senior national team call-up.
