Former Ghana international, Ibrahim Tanko says he is always available to lend a helping hand to Black Stars coach Otto Addo.
Tanko and Otto Addo played together at Borussia Dortmund and both began their coaching careers at the same time.
With Otto Addo soon to be confirmed substantive coach of the Black Stars, Tanko insists he won’t turn down an opportunity to assist his friend.
“It’s difficult to say no to Ghana, so I am always available. I mostly speak to the technical team led by Otto Addo and anyone knows I played with him at Dortmund. I also started my coaching career with him, so Otto is a good friend and we always get in touch,” he told Brryt FM.
“We have to pray for the team but it will be prudent for us to lower our expectations so players won’t be pressured” he added.
Otto Addo revealed on Wednesday morning that Dortmund have granted him permission to take over the job as Ghana coach.
“I got permission from Dortmund. Under certain conditions, it works out that I can do the international game phases in June, September and also the World Cup,” Addo said in a podcast of Hamburger Abendblatt.
Ibrahim Tanko was assistant coach of the Black Stars between 2017 to 2019.
