I will be visiting players and watching matches – Otto Addo reveals World Cup qualifiers strategy

Black Stars coach Otto Addo has outlined his strategy for Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali in September.

Addo plans to intensify monitoring and planning when the new European season starts, watching matches and deciding on the squad with his team.

“Surely, I will be visiting players like I always do when the season starts. I will be watching matches and come together with my team to decide who will come for the next game,” he said in his post Trinidad and Tobago game.

Addo’s focus will be on maintaining momentum and evaluating both regular and new players.

“We want to start with a win against Chad. Before that, we will prepare well,” he added.

The coach will also keep in touch with injured players to ensure their readiness.

“There are also a lot of injured players. We will keep in touch with them and stay connected so that when we come together in September, everybody will be ready to do the job.”

Addo believes continuity, hard work, and the right mentality are crucial to progressing in the qualifiers, having previously led Ghana to 15 points from six matches.

He is confident in his team’s abilities and is preparing for a strong campaign.
