I was a troublemaker when I was a kid – Clermont Foot defender Alidu Seidu

Clermont Foot defender Alidu Seidu has revealed that he was a troublemaker when he was a kid growing up in Kumasi.

The 23-year-old Black Stars defender said they fought with machetes when available if they lose area games.

He revealed that he was hit with a machete and spent about three to four months in the hospital, but fortunately survived.

“I was a little kid who didn’t go to school much and was always looking for a place to play football. I was also a bit of a troublemaker,” he told Ligue 1 in an interview.

“I got into fights wherever I could. I would either hit people or get hit. Since I was always out, I would mimic the behaviors of others, and the older ones taught me how to become a troublemaker.”

Alidu Seidu has been a revelation since he joined Clermont Foot four years ago, gaining promotion to the French Ligue 1 in his first senior season in 2020/21.

He has been magnificent in the last three seasons in the French top flight, seeing him being linked to some of the top teams in Europe.
