I only act on the instructions of Togbe Afede XIV

Hearts of Oak board member Vincent Odotei Sowah has disencumbered himself from any blames at the capital club as tensions blow within the club following their exit from the CAF Confederation Cup.

The former Member of Parliament of La Dadekotopon, in the Greater Accra Region, has told Otuo Acheampong in an exclusive interview that he is only working at the office of the Executive Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV and carries out his instructions.

Odotei has come under immense heat together with board members Alhaji Akanbi and Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe with some irate fans deflating the car tyres of Odotei on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

A section of the club’s followers have called for the resignation of the three personalities after the club’s abysmal display in the CAF Confederation Cup.

However, speaking on Oyerepa FM, the 54-year-old vociferous former King Faisal CEO surreptitiously shifted the blames on decision-taking to board chairman Togbe Afede XIV.

“Akanbi and myself, work in the office of the Chief Executive. We work to his instructions and things he delegates us to do. As a Director I won’t resign or as a board member. I was appointed. So I cannot say I’m resigning from that post. I should be stepping down for what?,” he told Otuo Acheampong on Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.

The Phobians exited the competition following a 3-1 aggregate loss to AS Real Bamako from Mali, leaving fans to vent their anger on the leadership of the club.
