I moved to India because of money – Richard Osei Agyemang

Former Ashanti Gold SC captain, Richard Osei Agyemang has disclosed that he moved to India to continue his career because of money.

Speaking to Wontumi FM in an interview, the defender bemoaned how the Ghana Premier League underpays players.

According to him, a player can play in the Ghanaian top-flight league for five to six years and still not have GHS50,000 in their bank account.

“No Ghana premier league player can boast of 50k cedis in his account for playing in the league for 5 to 6 years. I decided to move to India cos of money. The GPL can’t afford that.” Richard Osei Agyemang shared.

This week, the experienced Ghanaian centre-back has sealed a move to Indian club Real Kashmir.

The defender in the past did not only play for Ashanti Gold SC in the Ghana Premier League but also had a stint with Asante Kotoko.

He is now keen on doing well in India as he also sets one eye on cashing out big time.
