I don’t take salary. I’ve sacrificed for Hearts of Oak

Under-pressure Hearts of Oak board member Vincent Odotei has claimed he is not remunerated for his efforts at the capital.

The former Member of Parliament of La Dadekotopon, in the Greater Accra Region, has come under immense criticism together with board members Alhaji Akanbi and Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe.

A section of the club’s followers have called for the resignation of the three personalities after the club’s abysmal display in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Phobians exited the competition following a 3-1 aggregate loss to AS Real Bamako from Mali, leaving fans to vent their anger on the leadership of the club.

Despite the loud calls for his resignation, Odotei has categorically stated that he will not resign from his post.

“Togbe Afede XIV is the Executive Chairman just like the way Dr. KK Sarpong was in Kotoko sometime ago. It is the same structure. Togbe Afede is the Chief Executive Officer of the club,” Odotei told Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.

And, Akanbi and myself, work in the office of the Chief Executive. We work to his instructions and things he delegates us to do. As a Director I won’t resign or as a board member. I was appointed. So I cannot say I’m resigning from that post. I should be stepping down for what?

We have made sacrifices to club. We are very close to a leapfrogging of the club. The board is on the right track that is why I am sacrificing myself, working without any salary,” he added.
