A high-powered FIFA delegation led by Director of Member Associations for Africa, Gelson Fernandes have arrived in Tamale for the GFA Elective congress on Thursday.
Accompanying him are Silmara Sousa, Development Program Coordinator for FIFA Member Associations Africa, and Ahmed Harraz, Senior Manager of FIFA Member Associations Governance Services.
The trio arrived in Accra on Tuesday before making their way to Tamale on Wednesday morning to participate in the congress set for Thursday.
The Ghana Football Association is poised to conduct elections on Thursday, October 5, 2023, to choose new executives who will oversee the administration of the Association for the next four years.
In addition to the Presidential election, delegates will also vote for representatives of the Premier League and Division One League. Dr. Gifty Oware Mensah is running unopposed as the representative for Women’s Football on the Executive Council.
The electoral process will encompass all 10 regions, with regional delegates electing their respective Chairmen.
