Herbalife Ghana has unveiled a new partnership with LA Galaxy and the youth development initiative founded by Joseph Paintsil, aimed at promoting sports development and proper nutrition among young footballers.
The collaboration will see Herbalife Ghana become the official nutrition partner of JP Academy and its associated JP Club teams.
The programme will provide structured nutrition guidance and products designed to help young athletes improve their performance and overall wellbeing.
According to the organisers, the initiative forms part of Herbalife’s broader mission to support long-term community development projects, particularly those focused on empowering young people through sports and healthy living.
Paintsil, who currently plays in Major League Soccer, was also present at the launch and welcomed the collaboration, describing it as an important step toward strengthening grassroots football in the country.
“I am grateful to Herbalife International, Herbalife Ghana and LA Galaxy for this opportunity. This partnership shows Herbalife’s genuine commitment to supporting communities and investing in grassroots football,” Paintsil said.
The Ghana international explained that his academy will play a central role in implementing the programme locally.
JP Academy focuses on identifying and nurturing young football talents while also teaching values such as discipline, teamwork and personal development.
“At JP Academy, our aim is to give young footballers a professional environment where they can grow both as players and as individuals,” Paintsil explained.
“We want to contribute meaningfully to Ghanaian football and produce players who excel on and off the pitch.”
Through the new partnership, players at the academy will benefit from structured education on nutrition, including guidance on proper fueling, hydration and recovery practices that are important for athletic performance.
Herbalife Ghana will also collaborate with the academy’s coaching staff to design and implement a comprehensive nutrition programme tailored to the needs of the young players.
Paintsil, 26, currently plays as a forward for LA Galaxy, where Herbalife already serves as the club’s exclusive nutrition partner.
Beyond his professional career, the Ghanaian forward established JP Academy with the aim of supporting the development of young footballers and helping them pursue careers in the sport.
The partnership is expected to create opportunities for young athletes in Ghana to benefit from professional guidance both on the pitch and in maintaining healthy lifestyles.
