Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum has called on Ghanaians to lower their expectations for the Black Stars despite the recent wins in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The four-time African champions recorded a 2-1 win against Mali and a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Central African Republic in Bamako and Kumasi respectively.
The results mark a good start for coach Otto Addo’s second tenure managing the Black Stars, with some Ghanaians already tipping him for success.
Twum acknowledged the team’s positive start but cautioned against expecting victory in every game.
“We have started on a very positive note, and we pray for more, but in the course of this journey, I don’t want to believe that Ghana will win every game,” said the Communications Director to Joy Sports.
“There will be days where we will not play well and win, and there will be days where we will play well and still not win.
“There will be disappointments and there will be lots of pain in the course of this journey, but in all of that, we believe in the competence of the entire backroom staff, which is why we assembled them, and we are looking ahead to our glory days.”
The Black Stars currently occupy second position in Group I with 9 points after four games.
Ghana will resume their qualifiers next year, facing Chad and Madagascar in their upcoming matches.
