Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has delivered a word of advice to Thomas Partey, urging the midfielder to maintain his focus and commitment to the club.

Despite having just one year left on his contract, Arteta expressed his satisfaction with the player’s performance.

Thomas Partey, 30, has faced challenges in the current 2023/24 season due to persistent injuries, limiting him to only eight appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners.

In a recent development, Partey returned to the squad after a lengthy absence, playing 67 minutes in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory against Luton Town at the Emirates Stadium.

Following the match, Partey expressed his happiness at being associated with the club, amidst swirling speculations about his future.

Responding to Partey’s remarks, Arteta emphasized the importance of the midfielder’s focus, stating, “Partey said he’s happy here? He’d better have his head here because we are playing for big things.”

He further praised Partey as a top player and expressed his contentment with the player’s presence at Arsenal.

“He’s a top player, he’s under contract for one more year and I’m really happy with Thomas.”

As the season enters its final stages, Arteta is relying on Partey’s contribution as Arsenal competes for both the Premier League and Champions League titles.

Arsenal is gearing up to clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium this weekend in the Premier League, with Thomas Partey expected to play a pivotal role in the encounter.
