The board chairman of Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has jumped to the defense of underfire board members Alhaji Akanbi and Vincent Odotei Sowah.
The two club officials have been on the receiving end of severe backlash by supporters of the club and were nearly attacked last weekend after the CAF Confederations Cup defeat to AS Real Bamako.
At a meeting on Wednesday, Togbe Afede XIV has stressed that contrary to the accusations against Alhaji Akanbi and Vincent Odotei Sowah, the two are working selflessly for the club.
According to him, the successes of the team on and off the pitch are largely thanks to their dedication and commitment to the team.
“Sometimes I’m amazed about the level of commitment from these people and trust me the successes of 2021/22 on the pitch, what we are doing at Pobiman, the Commercial Centre, and the new head office would never have been possible without the dedication of this gentlemen. That needs to be told in no uncertain things,” Togbe Afede XIV stressed.
This is expected to ease the pressure on the two board members who are unhappy about the attacks from the fans of the club.
