Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has shared his delight after playing a pivotal role in Ghana’s successful qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The veteran goalkeeper was a standout performer throughout the qualifiers, producing a series of impressive displays that helped the Black Stars clinch their ticket to the global showpiece.
His commanding presence in goal was key to Ghana’s 1–0 win over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium, a result that sealed the nation’s fifth appearance at the tournament.
During the qualifying campaign, Asare conceded just one goal in six matches and kept five clean sheets.
Following the victory, the Hearts of Oak shot-stopper took to social media to express his pride, posting a photo of himself celebrating with the caption:

Asare was one of only two players from the Ghana Premier League to feature for the Black Stars during the qualifiers.
Ghana’s qualification marks their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup and their second consecutive participation, joining four other African nations in booking a spot for the 2026 tournament to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
