Accra Hearts of Oak are working to resolve a transfer-related issue that led to a ban imposed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The club was sanctioned with a transfer ban for failing to pay $70,000 to New Edubiase United, which included $50,000 for the transfer of midfielder Salim Adams and $20,000 representing 40% of an onward transfer fee.
Hearts of Oak missed the final deadline of May 31, 2025, to settle the debt.
Communications Director Kwame Opare Addo confirmed the club’s efforts to resolve the issue, saying, “This is an issue that is being resolved, and when it’s eventually resolved, New Edubiase will confirm it.” He added that both parties are in constant touch to ensure the matter is being addressed: “
The two parties are in constant touch to ensure that the issues are being resolved.”
The transfer ban will remain in effect until the financial dispute is fully resolved.
Despite previous attempts to resolve the matter, including a meeting between the clubs in March, Hearts of Oak failed to meet their obligations.
