Accra Hearts of Oak have issued a firm warning to their supporters following a chaotic incident at the club’s secretariat, where a group of angry fans stormed the premises demanding the resignation of Managing Director Delali Anku-Adiamah.
The protesting supporters accused Anku-Adiamah of being a passive figurehead, claiming he has handed over the club’s affairs to board members Alhaji Akambi and Vincent Sowah Odotei.
In response, the club’s board has condemned the incident, describing the actions of the fans as “unruly” and “unacceptable.”
Speaking to Graphic Sports, board member Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe expressed his disappointment.
“That was a very unfortunate development because the supporters have their role to play in the club, but what they did is definitely not right.”
He stressed that the proper route for grievances is through the National Chapters Committee (NCC), which serves as a formal bridge between the supporters and the board.
“If the supporters have a problem, they should channel their complaint to the leadership of the NCC, and the board will look at it. If necessary, action will be taken – but not by attacking the MD or calling for his resignation.”
The club emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and respect for internal procedures, noting that these principles are key to building a stronger club culture.
Amid growing frustrations from fans due to poor on-pitch performances and concerns about the club’s direction, Hearts of Oak’s leadership insists that measures are being taken behind the scenes to revive the club’s fortunes.
In the meantime, supporters have been urged to remain patient, use proper communication channels, and support the team constructively as it works toward reclaiming its past glory.
