Accra Hearts of Oak’s MTN FA Cup journey came to an end on Sunday after a shocking defeat to Golden Kicks.
The match, held at the University of Ghana Stadium, saw both teams start strong but fail to score in the first half.
Despite Accra Hearts’ renewed pressure in the second half, they were unable to capitalize on their chances.
Things took a turn for the worse when Theophilus Collins received a second yellow card, reducing Hearts to 10 players.
Golden Kicks had a golden opportunity to win the game five minutes from time, but Benjamin Asare’s heroics denied them victory.
With the game ending 0-0, the match was decided by penalties.
Unfortunately, Asamoah Boateng and Samuel Amofa missed their penalties, while Golden Kicks converted four of theirs, securing a 4-3 win and knocking Accra Hearts of Oak out of the competition.
