Hearts of Oak will look to assert their continental dominance when they take on Enyimba FC in the Eko Cup on July 11 – five days after their President Cup tie with Kotoko.
The Phobians will face sworn rivals Asante Kotoko on July 6 as the countries two most storied clubs battle for the ultimate bragging rights in the President’s Cup – a tournament played annually in honour of the sitting President.
Ahead of the tie, Hearts of Oak have made valuable additions to their team, most notable replacing head coach Aboubakar Ouattara with former Black Meteors coach Didi Dramani.
Dramani himself formerly coached Kotoko and will look to leverage the experience when his side come up against Kotoko, who they struggled to beat last season in the league; drawing one game and losing the other.
Meanwhile, the game against Kotoko will open Dramani up to the potential of his team before they emplane from Ghana to participate in the Eko Cup, together with other teams from Nigeria, including Enyimba and Remo Stars.
Hearts’ first test will be to overcome Enyimba at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on July 11.
