Hearts of Oak selects WAFA Park as temporary home grounds for second round of Ghana Premier League

Ghana Premier League side, Hearts of Oak will play their home games in the second round of the 2023/24 season at the WAFA Park in Sogakope.

This is due to the unavailability of the Accra Sports Stadium which serves as their home grounds.

The Stadium will be used as one of the venues for the 13th African Games set to be hosted in Ghana.

In the plans of Hearts of Oak ahead of the start of the second round of the Ghana Premier League, they have selected the WAFA Park to serve as temporary home grounds.

The league campaign has been on a break for weeks after the first round came to an end.

The break allowed Ghanaians to focus attention on the Black Stars during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

With the continental showpiece coming to an end last Sunday, the Ghana FA has confirmed that the league will resume on February 24.

In the first matchday of the second round, league leaders Samartex FC will travel to Dormaa to take on Aduana Stars.

Giants Asante Kotoko will also make the trip to Kpando to face off with Heart of Lions.

In the other games, Hearts of Oak will take on Real Tamale United, while Accra Lions host Medeama Sporting Club.
