Board Member of Heart of Oak, Alhaji Akambi has backed the appointment of Aboubakar Ouattara as the club’s new trainer.
The Ivorian trainer inked a two and half deal with the “Rainbow Family” ahead of the commencement of the Ghana Premier League second round.
He replaces Martin Koopman who was fired after three months in charge for non-performance.
“Looking at our idea of taking Hearts of Oak to the days where we conquered Africa, we needed a coach who had that experience, “he told Fox FM
“If you look at Ouattara, he has coached a lot of clubs in Africa and has won Champions League. When we played against WAC, he was with them. So he has the things we needed.”
The experienced gaffer is making his return to the Ghanaian top flight after almost two decades when he worked with Asante Kotoko and King Faisal.
