Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Attah says his teammate Daniel Afriyie Barnieh must be paid Ghc15,000 monthly by the club following his importance to the team.
Despite failing to retain the Ghana Premier League title, Barnieh propelled the Phobians to clinch their 12th MTN FA Cup title by scoring in the final against Bechem United at the Baba Yara stadium.
The 21-year-old made 31 appearances for Hearts across all competitions, scored eight goals and provided four assists last season.
“Afriyie Barnieh is the top player in the Ghana Premier League. He is the most important player at Hearts now and to me, he is worth GHC15, 000 monthly,” Atta said in an interview.
Barnieh has been linked with a move to several clubs following his impressive performances for Samuel Boadu’s side and according to reports, he is expected to leave the club before the start of the new season.
Hearts of Oak will represent Ghana at next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
