Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak are demanding an immediate apology from sports journalist Darling Boy Piero of Ezra FM over claims that the club’s head coach, Didi Dramani, took tactical instructions from spiritualists during the President’s Cup.
The Phobians, who scored first, suffered 2-1 defeat to their rivals Asante Kotoko.
The journalist alleged on air that “three Mallams” were in the dressing room influencing key decisions made by the technical team.
In a statement released, Hearts of Oak said: “We categorically deny this baseless and defamatory claim.
“Hearts of Oak prides itself on professionalism, discipline and merit-based technical decision.”
The statement follows renewed optimism at the club, after the appointment of Didi Dramani on a two-year contract.
Dramani, who is a former Black Stars assistant coach, is tasked with improving the team’s performance after a fourth-place finish in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
