Hearts of Oak defender Mohammed Alhassan has praised Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, saying the striker was the Phobian’s best player in the just-ended season.
Barnieh was Hearts of Oak’s hero last Sunday, scoring the winner in the MTN FA Cup final victory against Bechem United in Kumasi.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Wontumi FM, the enterprising defender stated that Barnieh has had an outstanding season and thus deserves praise.
“I will name Afriyie Barnieh as Hearts of Oak’s Best Player of the Season because he has had an outstanding season,” he said.
Afriyie Barnieh was part of the Black Stars squad that participated in the Kirin Cup in Japan earlier this month.
He made his debut against Japan after coming on as a second-half substitute.
The 21-year-old is hoping to be named to the Ghana squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
