Hearts of Oak coach Slavko Matic rues missed chances despite win over Kotoku Royals

Hearts of Oak new coach Slavko Matic was left to rue his team’s missed chances despite their 1-0 win over Kotoku Royals on match week five of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.

Daniel Afriyie Barnieh converted the penalty to score the Phobians’ only goal of the game as they secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

The win lifted Hearts 7th on the league table but speaking in a post-match interview, coach Matic was not happy with his team’s performance.

“We must play more with the ball like we did in the first half. We created more chances in the second half but we sat back a little we should have changed the system and formation but we did what is necessary for the team,” he said.

“We did what is good which is to keep a clean sheet, but for a better performance for the team, I think we should run more with the ball.”
