Hearts of Oak Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV has scheduled an emergency crisis meeting with the board members today after their exit from the CAF Confederations Cup.
The Phobians bowed out of the competition following a 3-1 aggregate score, despite a 1-0 victory over Real Bamako of Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The game itself was overshadowed by a lot of off-field confusion and drama.
Chairman of the National Chapters Committee, Elvis Herman Hesse Jnr and Board member, Vincent Odotei Sowah were engaged in a heated exchange during the match.
The two were spotted arguing and had to be separated from each other to avoid what could have escalated into a physical altercation at the VIP box of the Accra Sports Stadium.
Some fans also held Odotei and Alhaji Braimah Moro hostage after the match. The angry mob were reported to have flattened the car tyre of the embattled club officials.
The top club officials have been subjected to a barrage of criticisms over the club’s management.
It is in the wake of these incidents that board chairman Togbe Afede has called an emergency meeting to discuss what has been going wrong at the club and the way forward.
Kickoffghana has gathered through the grapevine that as part of the agenda for the meeting, the board will also discuss the appointment of a substantive head coach following the dismissal of Samuel Boadu.
