Hearts of Oak board member Alhaji Akambi denies match-fixing allegations

Hearts Of Oak Board Member Alhaji Akambi has debunked claims his side engaged in match-fixing in the just ended 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians were said to have played a match of convenience by the public as they lost their last four games of the league campaign.

Alhaji Akambi has described those news as false in an interview with Abusua FM.

“Hearts Of Oak have never played in a fixed game before and never will such an act happen. We are a big team with a broad reputation.” Akambi said.

“The reports are all allegations and propaganda against the team. I don’t understand why when we win there news don’t pop-up but when we lose then they we play fix matches.”

“We didn’t have a good season because of some ups and downs but we have a final to prepare for and surely we shall win the 2021 MTN FA Cup” Alhaji Akambi concluded.

Hearts Of Oak were humiliated by Real Tamale United on the last day of the GPL season with a whopping 4-1 loss.
