Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has named Hearts of Oak attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh in his 29-man squad for the upcoming international friendly matches against Brazil and Nicaragua.
The highly rated forward was the only home based player included following his stellar performances for the Black Galaxies during the 2023 CHAN qualifiers.
Barnieh scored four goals in four appearances during the qualifications against Benin and rivals Nigeria to help the home based national team for make it to tournament for first time since 2014.
The list also includes five debutants; Brighton and Hove Albion right back Tariq Lamptey, Southampton FC’s Mohammed Salisu, Stephan Ambrosius of Karlsruher SC, Inaki Williams of Athletic Bilbao and Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer of Hamburg SV.
Ghana is expected to play the two matches as part of preparation towards the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in November/December.
The Black Stars are scheduled to face Brazil on Friday, September 23, at Stade Oceane in Le Harve- France before taking on Nicaragua three days later at Estadio Francisco Artes Carrasco in Spain.
