Kpando Heart of Lions twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Bibiani Gold Stars in their Ghana Premier League Matchday 23 fixture at the Kpando Park on Monday.

Heart of Lions went into the game looking to build on their impressive home record in recent weeks – following four wins and one draw in five home games. After a blistering start to the game, Emmanuel Odai gave Bibiani Gold Stars an early lead in the 13th minute but Mustapha Yakubu leveled matters for the hosts four minutes before the first half whistle after netting inside 41 minutes.

Emmanuel Odai scored his second of the day in the 64th minute to restore Gold Stars lead after smashing home from the edge of the box.

Heart of Lions coach Bashiur Hayford made some changes to the team as he brought on Afful Yussif and Kwasi Bentil Duah for Mahama Raf and Atta Kusi in their bid to find the equalizer.

The substitutions paid off in the 77th when Kwasi Duah found the back of the net for the equalizer. The pendulum then swung in favor of Heart of Lions as they piled pressure on the visitors for the winner but Bibiani Gold Stars held on for a valuable away point.

The result leaves Heart of Lions in the 17th spot with 22 points while Bibiani Gold Stars drops to the 13th position with 29 points.

In Berekum – Mohammed Mankuyeli scored a first half penalty to give Real Tamale United a 1-0 victory over high flying Accra Lions at the Golden City Park.

Real Tamale United are rooted at the bottom of the League table despite the win while Accra Lions stay in 12th place with 30 points – but with one game in hand.
