‘He can’t be like Roger Millar’ – Alhaji Grunsah reacts to Gyan’s desire for Black Stars return

Black Stars Management Committee member, Alhaji Karim Grusah says Asamoah Gyan does not merit a call-up into the Ghana senior team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 36-year-old made his desire known in an interview with the BBC last month and has since been seen training individually as the World Cup looms.

Gyan has not played competitive football for close to two years, since departing Legon Cities in 2021.

“He was not able to play even 20 minutes for Legon Cities. Asamoah Gyan can’t play again,” Grusah told Adom Sport

“If the coach hands him a call up, there will be problem. He can’t play at the World Cup. He can’t be like Roger Millar,” He ended.

The former Black Stars captain has featured at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups, scoring six goals.
