Ghanaian-Serbian winger Douglas Owusu has joined Hapoel Tel Aviv from Red Star in a €2.2m transfer, signing a contract with the Israeli club until 30 June 2030.

The 20-year-old right winger completed the move on 5 August 2026, switching from Serbia’s Super Liga to Israel’s Ligat ha’Al. Owusu, who was born in Cape Coast, Ghana, on 10 April 2006, plays primarily on the right side of attack and is left-footed.

He arrives at Hapoel Tel Aviv after helping Red Star secure both the Serbian league title and the Serbian Cup during the 2025-26 season. Those honours marked a successful campaign for Owusu at the Belgrade club, which he now leaves after the transfer was finalised.

Owusu’s previous senior success came with FK Radnik Surdulica, where he won the Serbian Second League in the 2024-25 season. That title preceded his move into Red Star’s senior set-up and his subsequent involvement with a club that completed a domestic double in his next campaign.

The winger stands at 1.65 metres and holds Ghanaian and Serbian nationality. His arrival gives Hapoel Tel Aviv a young wide attacker with experience of Serbian football and a record of winning domestic honours across successive seasons.

The move also places Owusu in a new league and country at an important stage of his career. Hapoel Tel Aviv are the third senior club listed in his recent career, following his time with Radnik Surdulica and Red Star.

Owusu’s market value is listed at €4.5m, while the transfer fee agreed for his move to Hapoel Tel Aviv is €2.2m. His new contract runs through the end of June 2030, providing the club with a long-term agreement for the Ghanaian-Serbian winger.

The transfer was completed on 5 August, and Douglas Owusu is now a Hapoel Tel Aviv player.
