Stevanovic has agreed a four year deal to become Ghana coach subject to a major review after two years and Gyan says the players will play their role in ensuring he fits well into his new role. Gyan is one of those players Stevanovic will rely heavily on given his terrific international goal scoring rate. But Gyan says while he will find a group high in spirits and determined to do and one too never to have a pop at the manager. “We will be behind him as players and play our heart out for the nation as we always have,” he told KickOffGhana.com. “But we joke a lot so if he is quick tempered he should take it easy.” Gyan also knows the appointment of a new man will inevitably lead to changes in the national team. “Every coach has his program and how to achieve that. A new coach could mean new tactics, new training methods and a lot of things. But we know ourselves, we have been a group for so long and if there is anything we have done well, it has been our ability to adapt. We will get used to him in no time.” Gyan and the rest of the Black Stars squad will meet the new Black Stars boss for the first time when they play a friendly against a yet to be named opponent on February 9. But Gyan will be absent for the March 27 meeting against Congo in the 2012 Nations Cup qualifiers.
