Accra Lions on Monday afternoon secured three crucial points to boost hopes of survival in the Ghana Premier League after defeating Legon Cities FC 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The two Accra-based clubs locked horns today in a matchday 28 encounter of the ongoing Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.
Although Legon Cities FC went into the game as the favourites, Accra Lions proved a tough nut to crack as the team defended very well to force the first half to end in a draw.
Just three minutes into the second half after recess, Accra Lions scored through a strike from Bassit Seidu to upset the odds.
Despite the fight from Legon Cities FC to come back into the game, the team failed to score, and as a result, the visitors finished the game on the losing side.
The big three points today have propelled Accra Lions to climb to 12th on the Ghana Premier League table.
