Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, says the government is committed to expanding recreational infrastructure across the country as part of efforts to promote wellness and reduce health costs.
Speaking to the media, Adams explained that President Mahama’s decision to rename the ministry was intentional and reflects a broader vision to improve the nation’s lifestyle through structured recreation.
“It will bring about wellness, better working hours, and fewer health expenses,” he said. “Non-communicable diseases will drastically reduce.”
Adams, who is also MP for Buem, is in Morocco supporting the Black Queens at the 2024 WAFCON, but says the trip is also a chance to study how other nations are weaving recreation into national development policy.
