Interim head coach of Bibiani GoldStars, Nana Yaw Amankwah, believes his side is rediscovering its rhythm following their hard-fought 2-2 draw against Hearts of Oak in week seven of the Ghana Premier League.

The defending champions came from behind to secure a point at the Accra Sports Stadium, thanks to a brace from Samuel Attah Kumi, before George Paaku’s header restored parity for the home side.

Speaking after the game, Amankwah expressed satisfaction with his team’s recent improvement.

“Our boys are now picking [up] very well,” he said.

“We changed the strategy and we can break them [on the counter attack].

“We know they [Hearts of Oak] are weak [in defending counter-attacks] and we just took our opportunities from there.”

GoldStars’ form has stabilized in recent weeks after a difficult start to the campaign that saw them crash out of the CAF Champions League preliminary round with a 7-0 aggregate defeat to JS Kabylie.

The team is now unbeaten in three league games, recording two wins and a draw to climb to fourth on the Premier League table with 13 points.

Amankwah and his men will look to continue their resurgence when they host Young Apostles on November 2 in Bibiani.
