Goalkeeper Jordan Amissah reacts to joining Burton Albion

Jordan Amissah, a German-born Ghanaian goalkeeper, has expressed his delight at joining League 1 side Burton Albion.

Amissah spent last season on loan with Guiseley and Spennymoor Town, both in the National League North, before making his debut for United earlier this season, coming off the bench to replace Wes Foderingham in the Blades’ 1-1 draw with Luton Town.

Amissah, who played 90 minutes against the Brewers in a preseason friendly against the Blades, is now eager to begin his career with the Brewers for the balance of the 2022/23 season.

Jordan will be assigned the number 24 throughout his stint with the Brewers.

“I’m absolutely buzzing,” said Amissah. “I got the call last night and everything happened quite quickly,”

“I played here in pre-season and had a decent match, and the lads have been top so far. They’ve been chatting, helping me not feel awkward and it’s been really good so far,” he added.

“I would say my strengths are in making saves. My size is a big advantage, I don’t mind coming out for a cross or two and I like to communicate, so hopefully we can get that going early doors and go from there,”
