Ghana’s national U-19 boys team has landed in Switzerland for a set of friendly encounters with youth sides of Swiss giants FC Basel 1893.
This follows an ongoing development partnership between the two institutions.
The 24-member Ghanaian delegation, which is made up of 18 players and six officials, will engage in two test matches against FC Basel’s U-21 and U-19 teams on July 23 and July 25, 2025, respectively.
Both matches are scheduled to take place at the Nachwuchs Campus Basel, the academy base of the Swiss club.
These games are designed to evaluate the team’s growth over the past four months and provide a high-level platform to further sharpen their skills.
The friendlies also form a key part of the GFA’s long-term player development strategy, which aims to ensure a seamless transition from the U-17 level (Black Starlets) to the U-20s (Black Satellites).
Technical staff will use the matches to assess individual performances and overall team cohesion ahead of future assignments.
