Ghanaian international midfielder, Salis Abdul Samed, expressed his delight after playing a pivotal role in RC Lens’ triumphant victory over Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
Samed lasted the entire duration as the French side overcame an early setback when Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus put Arsenal ahead just 14 minutes into the match.
However, Lens quickly responded with Adrien Thomasson netting an equalizer 11 minutes later, ensuring the teams entered halftime level.
In an impressive display of determination, Lens secured the match-winning goal in the 69th minute through Elye Wahi.
Sharing his excitement on social media after the game, an elated Abdul Samed wrote, “We are Lens. Magical atmosphere, unique evening.”
The result sees Lens move to summit of the group B on four points, one more than Arsenal. Sevilla is next with two points following a draw that gives PSV Eindhoven its first point.
