Ghana’s Richard Ofori has clinched the MTN8 trophy with Orlando Pirates after their win over Mamelodi Sundowns.
Pirates emerged triumphant after defeating Sundowns 3-1 on penalties following an engaging 120 minutes of football.
This victory marks the 12th time the Buccaneers have clinched the MTN8 title.
During the penalty shootout, Pirates’ goalkeeper Sipho Chaine played a crucial role by saving three penalties, ultimately helping his team secure the win over Mamelodi Sundowns.
The latest triumph solidifies Orlando Pirates’ record of winning the MTN8 competition 12 times.
Ofori, although unused in the game, has been included in Ghana’s squad for upcoming friendly matches against the United States of America and Mexico scheduled for next week.
